How To Make Your Baby Gift Basket A Hit At The Baby Shower

Writen by Gregg Hall

The gift of a baby gift basket is one that can show that you are very kind and thoughtful if it is done right. If you fill it full of useless items it will be tossed to the side, but if you put a little thought into it you can create a baby gift basket that will impress all of the attendees of the baby shower. Here are a few ideas.

First off, remember that baby shower gifts should be for a baby, not for toddlers. The new parents will have enough lying around without having to store gifts that can't be used for a year or more!

Items for the baby nursery are always in vogue. Include a brightly colored mobile, musical mobile, or nursery rhyme CDs. If you are making a large basket you can even include things like changing pads. Age appropriate educational toys are always appreciated as well. In addition rattles, teething rings, pacifiers, bibs, and baby spoons will go nicely too.

Most babies love a bath and so does the new mommy. Including bath products for the new baby will go over big. Put items like baby shampoo, bubble bath, baby towels, and some toys for the tub that the baby will enjoy playing with. You can also include baby clothes in the gift basket, just make sure that they are for the gender of the baby or if the gender is unknown go with neutral colors like yellow or green.

It is a pleasant surprise to include fresh baked baby cookies, jelly beans, and other baby foods in the gift basket as well. Since the new parents will undoubtedly be taking lots of pictures, things like photos albums and picture frames will be greatly appreciated too.

Bearing in mind that the gift basket is as much for the parents as it is for the baby, you can also include items like fine gourmet food and a nice bottle of wine for the mommy and daddy to have for a relaxing evening.

If you are the crafty type then make your own bows and ribbons and customize the basket in other ways to express your personality in your gift. The recipient of the baby gift basket you have created will know that you have surely put a lot of thought and work into putting it all together. Just taking a little extra time to think it all out makes a huge difference in whether your baby gift basket is a flop or a hit!
